If I’m to lead, let it be with courage, wisdom and justice

May 18, 2014 by Peter Fletcher

For too long now I’ve turned a blind eye to people who break team rules. I’ve forced my will on those who have the weakest voice and yet tolerated insubordination from the strong.

That’s a weakness on my part. It’s a weakness borne of cowardice and a lack of courage. And it’s a weakness I’m addressing.

It’s time for me to know my mind and to ask for what I want. It’s time to stop seeking approval and to start living a life of virtue through courage, self-discipline, justice and wisdom.

To demand adherence to team rules takes justice and courage. Once agreed to team rules apply to everyone – the weak and the strong, the big and the small.

If I’m to lead I need to lead with courage, wisdom and justice. It’s time for me to do just that.
