My 2011 challenges – 5000/365

January 4, 2011 by Peter Fletcher

End of lap 12 yesterday

This year I’m setting myself two challenges. One’s physical, the other cerebral.

First, the physical.

My aim this year is to complete 5000 laps of Jacob’s Ladder. One lap is down and up all 242 steps. The maths: 20 laps per day, 5 days per week for 50 weeks. Over the course of the year I’ll climb 1 210 000 steps for a total vertical ascent of around 215 000 metres. Most of my climbing is done in the morning starting around 5:45. I love company.

And the cerebral?

My next challenge is to post 365 posts to this blog in 2011. This is post number one. The daily post challenge will get me into the habit of creating more content and consuming less social media.

Game on!
